 What is the difference between groups and channels?
Telegram groups are ideal for sharing with friends and family or collaborating in small teams. But groups can also grow very large and support communities of up to 200,000 members. You can make any group public, switch to persistent history to control whether new members can access previous posts, and assign admins with granular privileges. You can also pin important messages to the top of the screen for all members to see, including newcomers. You can also buy real telegram channel members from adsmember.

Channels are a tool for broadcasting messages to large audiences. In fact, a channel can have an unlimited number of subscribers. When you broadcast to a channel, the message is signed with the name and photo of the channel, not your name. Every message in the channel has a view counter that updates when viewed, including any delivered copies.

 How can I create a group?
iOS: Start a new message (tap the icon in the top right corner in Chats) > 'New Group'.
Android: Tap the circular pencil icon in the Chats list > 'New Group'.
Telegram Desktop: Click the menu button in the upper left corner > 'New Group'.

Can I appoint an administrator?
You can add admins to help you manage your group and define their privileges in detail.

iOS: Go to group info (tap the photo in the upper right corner of the group's chat screen) — Edit — Admins.
Android: Go to group info (tap name in header) — pencil icon (top right corner) — Admins.
Telegram Desktop: While in the group, click the “…” button in the upper right corner > Manage group > Administrators.

How can I add more members? What is an invite link?
You can add your contacts or use search by username.

It's easy to migrate existing groups to Telegram by sending people an invite link. To create an invite link, go to Group Info — Add Member — Invite to Group with Link.

Anyone with Telegram installed on their device can join your group by following this link. If you choose to cancel the connection, the connection will stop working instantly.

Usernames and t.me
What are usernames? How can I get?
You can set a public username in Telegram. Then it becomes possible for other users to find you by that username. You will appear in the people search under 'General results'. Please note that people who find you can send you messages even if they don't know your number. If you are not comfortable with this, we recommend that you do not create a username in Telegram.

You can set a username in Settings and use the universal search box in the chat list to search for chats, messages and usernames.

How does t.me work?
After you set a username, you can give people a t.me/username link. Opening this link on the phone will automatically launch the Telegram app and open a chat with you. You can share username links with your friends, write them on business cards or put them on your website.

This way people can contact you on Telegram without knowing your phone number.

What can I use as a username?
You can use a-z, 0-9 and underscore. Usernames are not case sensitive, but Telegram will keep your capitalization preferences (eg Telegram and TeleGram are the same user). Username must be at least five characters long.

Do I need a username?
You don't have to buy. Keep in mind that Telegram usernames are public and choosing a username in Telegram makes it possible for people to find you from public search and send you messages even if they don't have your number. If you are not comfortable with this, we recommend that you do not create a username.

If someone finds me by username, messages and I reply, will they know my number?
No. Neither party will see another party's phone number (unless your privacy settings allow it). This is similar to the case when you send a message to a person you met in a Telegram group.

How do I delete my username?
Go to Settings and save the username leaving blank. This removes your username; people can no longer find you through search. This does not affect existing chats.

What can I do if my username is taken?
Telegram usernames are distributed on a first come, first served basis.

We know that certain usernames are part of online identity for some of us. If the username you want is already taken, we will be happy to assist you in obtaining it for your account or channel, provided you have the same username on at least two of these services: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram.

Due to the fact that an account can register multiple bot and channel usernames, we reserve the right to recall clearly occupied usernames as well as usernames assigned to unused bots and channels.

 How secure is Telegram?
Telegram app is more secure than mass market messaging apps like WhatsApp and Line. We rely on the MTProto protocol (see description and advanced FAQ) built on time-tested algorithms to align security with high speed delivery and reliability on weak links. We are constantly working with the community to improve the security of our protocol and our clients.

What if I'm more paranoid than your regular user?
We protected you. Telegram's private secret chats use end-to-end encryption, leave no traces on our servers, support self-destructing messages and do not allow forwarding. On top of that, secret chats are not part of the Telegram cloud and can only be accessed from source devices.

So how do you encrypt data?
We support double-secure encryption. Server-client encryption is used in cloud chats (private and group chats), Secret Chats uses an additional layer of client-client encryption encryption. Regardless of the type, all data is encrypted in the same way. It can be text, media or file.

Our encryption is based on 256-bit symmetric AES encryption, 2048-bit RSA encryption, and Diffie-Hellman secure key exchange. You can find more information in the advanced FAQ.
